Analyst Program Overview

Columbia Venture Partners is a student-run venture capital initiative in New York City, founded in the spring of 2016. We educate the Columbia University student body on angel investing, venture capital, and growth equity by providing students with real-world experience in the venture capital industry.

Every fall, we recruit for 10-15 analysts to participate in our rigorous Analyst Program. Analysts participate in CVP Academy, a 10-week long bootcamp program aimed to thoroughly prepare them in venture capital, including the ins-and-outs of investing and how to evaluate a startup. Further, our program connects analysts with real world internship experience supported by our partner funds and introduces analysts to the vibrant ecosystem of investors and entrepreneurs in New York City.

CVP ACADEMY

CVP runs a comprehensive program of weekly lecture series covering the basics of venture capital. Analysts will leave the program with a working understanding of valuation, term sheets, the current startup ecosystem, and industry trends.

competitions & visits

CVP Analysts participate in tech treks to venture ecosystems, site visits to top funds in Manhattan, and participate in venture capital and growth equity competitions. Analysts also work alongside the board on panels and event planning.

Our Community

At CVP, we are more than just a pre-professional club: we value friendship, community, and building a strong culture of inclusion by fostering an environment of trust and engagement.

Connecting with people who have similar interests is important, so CVP hosts events, socials, and meetups so that our members can spend time together and support one another.

Speaker Series

We regularly hold events, fireside chats and panels with industry professionals to allow the CVP community to dive into the venture capital ecosystem in New York and beyond.
